What's a Linocut
Linocut, linoprint, relief print, block print are all terms for basically the same thing - a carved design from a substrate, inked and then printed.
I use linoleum or linoleum-like substrates for my work and, mostly, Japanese carving tools to create my designs.
Designs are drawn and/or created in Photoshop; printed, then transferred to the substrate.
I then carve the design and print with oil-based inks.
Many prints are created using Japanese washi paper (either hand or machine created).
